I'm sure all of you have heard of positive affirmations before. These usually are in the form of I-AM affirmations where you make an affirmative statement about yourself.
These can help you to change the way you feel about yourself but they rarely ever inspire deep cognitive change.
This is because they don't really change the structure of your thinking. The context of your thinking. They don't incorporate logic and feelings. They are usually just empty statements.
But what if I were to ask you to list all the reasons you are grateful.
You would have to rack your brain for every good thing in your life. It would incorporate real events, real memories and real people. And that inquiry into your brain would make a lasting impression.
Instead of saying "I AM", start saying "Why am I?".
Through asking these questions you will make real lasting change and will begin to see the true effect affirmations can have on your life!
