To revise the past is to change the future.
Neville Goddard believed that you should revise the past in your memory in order to make a future that is more aligned with who and what you want to be.
This is because the past informs the future, and by changing your recollection of the past, you can change your future.
Changing your past is easier said than done though.
It requires a great deal of introspection to be able to accurately identify the memories and moments that are holding you back.
Once you have identified these memories, it is important to work on changing your perspective of them.
This can be done by thinking about them in a different light, or by imagining them as being different than they actually were. Which is what Neville Goddard did.
It is also important to work on forgiving yourself for any past transgressions. This is because holding onto feelings of guilt and shame will only hinder your ability to move forward.
Instead, try to see your past mistakes as learning opportunities.
This will allow you to let go of the negativity associated with them and will open up the possibility for growth.
It's easier than you'd think.
Identify the memory or moment that you want to change.
Work on changing your perspective of it. This can be done by thinking about it in a different light, or by imagining it as being different than it actually was.
Practice visualization. See yourself living the life that you want to live, with the revision that you have made in your past.
Once you've done this, it's important to let go of the old memory or moment.
This can be done by forgiving yourself, and by moving on from it.
Try not to dwell on it, and instead focus on the future that you want to create.
The more you revisit the memory, the less effective the revision.
Revisit it once, and then let it go.
